NIKKEN SEKKEI Research Institute provided support in creating images related to the “progress and benefits of cooperation on the urban environment” in the eight points economic cooperation plan presented by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to President Vladimir Putin at the Japan-Russia Summit Meeting (expanded meeting and dinner) held in Moscow on April 27, 2017 (editorial supervision by NIKKEN SEKKEI Research Institute and produced by Nice Corporation, YOU-TV).

The eight points economic cooperation plan between Japan and Russia was originally presented by Prime Minister Abe at the Japan-Russia Summit Meeting held in Sochi, Russia last May, with plans to promote economic exchange between Japan and Russia in the urban environmental field, under the theme of “developing comfortable and clean cities easy to reside and live in.”

The presentation on the urban environmental field at the Summit Meeting was a summary of past and future efforts, including concepts and pilot projects on urban development in the city of Voronezh, which was designated as a model city by the Japan-Russia Urban Environment Problem Working Group (Japanese Chair: Hirofumi Hanaoka, Vice-Minister for Land, Infrastructure, Hokkaido Development, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism; Russian Chair: Andrey Chibis, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities).
