Smart TOD Forum in ASEAN Held in Jakarta

"Smart City Project," a joint venture established by Japanese companies including Nikken Sekkei, held the Smart TOD Forum at the residence of the Ambassador of Japan to Indonesia to introduce transit oriented development (TOD), a mixed-use form of area development focused around railway stations.

As a result of the research in information analysis of urban management using big data, NSRI press-released Environmental Energy Map prepared for visualizing urban energy consumption on November 5.

On September 20, NSRI concluded MOU with University of Transport and Communications, Hanoi, Vietnam to make a joint research in socio-economic evaluation analysis as an approach to solutions for urban issues of developing countries.

On September 27 Dr. Yamamura, Chief Consultant and Mr. Ogawa, Senior Consultant of NSRI visited Danang　City,　Vietnam　to　have　a　meeting　with　Chairman　of　People's　Committee　and　officials　of　the　authorities.

Mr. Ogawa, Senior Consultant of NSRI will give　a　lecture　on　APEC　Low　Carbon　Model　Town　Samui　Island,　Thailand　at　the　Ecoislands　Global Summit 2013 to be held in Bornholm, Denmark on September 9 to 10. He also as a panelist will propose practical solutions based on study results of compact cities and smart cities in Japan and beyond.

Mr. Matsumura, Senior Consultant of NSRI contributed “Optimization of Floor Area Ratio based on the Experience and Expertise in Urban Planning of Japan- Process of Zoning Planning for the Expanded CBD of　Ho Chi Minh City” to the April issue of Ken Truc Vietnam Ky Luan Phe Binh, edited and issued by the Ministry of Construction, Vietnam.
