Study on criteria for updating building equipment

Summary

Project description
By compiling data on inspection records for building equipment into a database, repair costs over time can be derived from the rate of failure using macro methods. In addition, it is now possible to determine appropriate update intervals with the implementation of lifecycle cost assessments, such as initial investments for equipment, utility costs, maintenance costs, repair costs and depreciation costs. Equipment maintenance costs can also now be optimized from a variety of perspectives, from individual pieces of equipment to entire systems, and even entire buildings.
Technical features
  • Creation of database of periodic inspection records
  • Derivation of failure rates using macro methods
  • Development of assessment and calculation tools to assess lifecycle costs
  • Evaluation of single pieces of equipment, facility systems and groups of buildings using trial estimation tools
  • Examination of appropriate assessments related to regular maintenance and future inspection methods
