Support for study on the possibility of introducing community microgrids.

Summary

Project description
We were commissioned by Kandenko Co., Ltd. to conduct a survey for their study on the possibility of introducing community microgrids. As communities that could become isolated in the event of a disaster, for Tokyo and the nearby eight prefectures, which are supplied with electricity from TEPCO, we plotted on a map the municipal areas that are at risk of becoming flooded and listed the facilities located in these areas that will serve as disaster response centers. We identified 179 municipalities and facilities there that will be used as disaster response centers and that are projected to be inundated with 2 meters or more of water, and revisualized their need for disaster countermeasures.
Technical features
  • A flood hazard map covering 179 municipalities in almost all parts of the Kanto region, which are projected to be flooded by waters at least two meters deep, was prepared.
  • Using GIS, the areas projected to be flooded by river floods are superimposed with areas projected to be flooded by tsunami.
