Environmental performance evaluation

The main methods to evaluate and rank the environmental performance of a building include Japan’s Comprehensive Assessment System for Built Environment Efficiency (CASBEE) and the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED certification. Both are third-party certification systems. Certification helps companies brand themselves as being environmentally aware and is one means of managing risk in the field of the environment where regulations are expected to be tightened in the future.

NSRI provides support for obtaining CASBEE and LEED certifications.
We also offer consulting services for the formation of plans for the environmental performance and wellness of buildings using CASBEE and LEED, as well as for environmentally-related measures in building administration.
Overseas, NSRI is involved in designing evaluation systems for low-carbon and smart cities, including support for the development of the APEC Low-Carbon Town Indicator (LCT-I).

NSRI provided support in the development of VANKE WONDERLAND (Hangzhou, China), which became the first project in the world to receive platinum certification under the LEED FOR COMMUNITIES: PLAN+DESIGN program.
