Adding local value “together”

In order to improve the local economy and quality of life in a sustainable manner amidst declining birthrates, aging populations and competition between cities, it is necessary to target a shift from a focus on the conventional style of “consolidating the sum of optimization in segments” to “collaboration and role sharing for overall optimization”. I believe actions that cross the lines of governments, companies and the public and aim to improve local value by pooling resources (human resources, locations, capabilities, funding, authority, ideas, etc.) become even more important as cities mature. We will design strategies, projects, and spaces to allow people to increase local value “together”, utilizing our experiences of promoting urban development with people in all different positions.
