Overview
In order to solve various social issues, it is important to not only address them from the aspect of hard infrastructure, such as equipment, systems, and transportation vehicles, but also from soft infrastructure through activities that concern the people who use buildings and towns.
So that we can flexibly respond to diversifying needs from the aspects of both hard and soft infrastructure, at NSRI, we are also engaged in day-to-day research activities which include conducting social experiments related to people's activities, modifying conventional study methods, and developing and demonstrating new study methods.
Features and Approaches
We highly value "collaboration among researchers" and "accumulation of data" in our daily research activities. Collaboration among researchers increases the possibility of deriving new findings and methods by having urban and environmental experts conduct activities while working together and respecting each other's research. We also think that accumulation of data will be a strength in ways such as providing concrete evidence-based explanations and disseminating information externally through presentations at academic conferences.
In the current situation where social issues are becoming increasingly complex, we believe that the sharing of knowledge across various fields will generate a variety of benefits, such as bringing about different approaches and expanding human networks.
